Logistics
Travel
If you’re flying into town, you’re options are either Norfolk International Airport (ORF) or the Newport News Williamsburg Airport (PHF).Norfolk is right next to Virginia Beach, but if you’re flying into PHF, expect to pay another $100 or so in cab fare to get into the city. Once you have your travel arrangements, feel free to send them to us, and we’ll try our best to see if we can set you up with a carpool or have an airport greeter.
Accommodations
We were able to negotiate a discounted rate at one of the hotels right on the beach. We’ll have a shuttle service that will transport out-of-town visitors back and forth from the hotel to the party. We are also planning to stay at this hotel over the weekend for some after party excursions.
Ramada at the Beach

615 Atlantic Avenue

Reserve your room
There are 15 rooms blocked off for 6/11 and 6/12, and all reservations must be made by 5/11 to be eligible for this rate. To book a room, use our direct attendee link or call 1-877-816-8783 and request the Wilson/Hou Wedding package. If anyone out of town wants to try out the surf, just let me know - Dan is happy to lend out his board and half suit.
If you would like recommendations for budget or more luxury accommodations, we are happy to make suggestions.
Restaurants
If you are staying near the oceanfront, you may want to check out some of these dining options. Big Sams (voted best pancakes in VB), Rudee’s on the Inlet, Black Angus (for juicy steaks), Catch 31 (great seafood tower) and Crocs.
Other Things to Think About
During the summer, Virginia Beach has a trolley that runs up the boardwalk, so you won’t need to worry about a car to get around the beach. Beyond relaxing on the beach (and maybe checking out the sand soccer tournament), you can also stop by the VB Aquarium and see the new komodo dragon exhibit. Check out VB Fun for more info.
